Farmhouse Pork And Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. bacon, cut in 2-inch pieces
    3 lb. pork, cubed
    3 tart apples, peeled and chopped
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. apple cider
    4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
    3 medium onions, chopped
    3/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. rubbed sage
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. milk
    5 Tbsp. butter, divided
Preparation
    Cook bacon in an ovenproof 12-inch skillet until crisp. Remove to paper towel to drain.
    Saute onions until tender; remove and set aside.
