Home Baked Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. dry navy beans
    1/4 lb. sliced fat salt pork
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. dry mustard
    2 Tbsp. molasses
    1 small onion
    1/4 c. sugar (brown or white)
Preparation
    Wash beans; cover with water and soak overnight.
    Next morning, cook slowly until skins burst or until just tender. Drain, reserving liquid.
    Place half the beans in the bean pot or casserole.
    Bury part of pork in the beans and half of combined remaining ingredients.
    Add remaining beans and seasonings.
    Place remaining salt pork over top.
    Cover with bean liquid and bake in 250\u00b0 to 300\u00b0 oven between 6 to 8 hours.
    Serves 6 to 8 people.
