Pepper Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. beef, sliced thin and cut into 2 x 1/8-inch strips
    1/2 c. butter
    1/8 tsp. garlic powder
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    2 green peppers, cut into strips
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 beef bouillon cube
    1 tsp. cornstarch
    1/4 c. water
    3 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
    rice or chow mein noodles
Preparation
    Fry beef in the butter and sprinkle with garlic powder.
    Cook, stirring slightly, until browned.
    Remove meat from pan. Add onion and green pepper.
    Saute about 2 minutes.
    Return meat to skillet along with tomatoes and bouillon cube.
    Simmer about 5 minutes. Blend together the next 5 ingredients.
    Stir into the meat mixture and simmer until tender, stirring once in awhile.
    Add drained mushrooms a few minutes before serving.
    Serve with hot rice and/or chow mein noodles.
