My Favorite Pasta-Garlic Clam Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    4 cloves garlic, minced
    2 Tbsp. olive oil
    1/2 lb. mushrooms, sliced
    2 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
    dash of cayenne
    1 1/2 tsp. dried thyme
    2 (7 oz.) cans minced clams
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Saute onion, green pepper and garlic in olive oil until translucent.
    (Add a little water and cover if necessary.) Add mushrooms and continue heating in covered saucepan for about 3 minutes.
    Add remaining ingredients, including all liquid from clams; heat until hot in covered saucepan.
    Serve with 1 cup spaghetti or linguine (2 ounces dry) per serving.
    Top with Parmesan cheese.
