Ingredients

1 c. softened butter
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 c. sugar
1 egg yolk
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. vanilla
candied cherries
pecan halves
Preparation

Cream butter and cream cheese together.
Slowly add sugar, beating until fluffy.
Beat in egg yolk.
Add flour and vanilla and mix well.
Chill dough at least 1 hour.
Shape into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Gently press a cherry half or pecan half into each cookie.
Bake at 350\u00b0 until bottom of cookies start to brown, 6 to 10 minutes.
Do not overbake.
