Italian Cookie Anise Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. cake flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. anise extract
    3 eggs
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease and flour cookie sheet.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
    Beat sugar and eggs for 5 minutes. Add anise and beat well.
    Add dry ingredients and mix at low speed.
    Make 3 separate long loaves on cookie sheet, 3-inches wide.
    Bake 15 minutes, until lightly baked.
    Remove from oven and cut into 1-inch cookies.
    Put back on cookie sheet, cut side down, and bake 10 more minutes.
    Makes 3 dozen.
