Chinese Pepper Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. round steak, cut into thin strips
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 medium onions, chopped
    2 c. water
    1/4 c. soy sauce
    2 green peppers, cut into strips
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 tomatoes, cut in chunks
Preparation
    Brown meat in a small amount of oil.
    Add chopped onions, water and salt.
    Cover and simmer until tender, about 20 minutes. Add green peppers and cook 5 minutes.
    Blend cornstarch with a little water and add to meat mixture.
    Cook, stirring, until thick.
    Just before serving, add tomatoes and soy sauce; heat. Serve over rice.
