Christmas Cutout Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    1 c. brown sugar
    3 Tbsp. water
    1 rounded tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. granulated sugar
    4 eggs
    6 c. pastry flour
    1 rounded tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter well; add white and brown sugar slowly and cream well.
    Beat eggs, cold water and vanilla.
    Mix and sift dry ingredients and add alternately with liquid ingredients to cream mixture.
    Chill at least 1/2 hour.
    (Can be wrapped in wax paper and left overnight.)
    Roll to desired thickness (about 1/8 or 1/4-inch) and bake for 12 to 15 minutes in a 350\u00b0 oven.
    Frost with colored frosting or brush with slightly beaten egg white and sprinkle with colored sugars.
