Banana Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. plus 2 Tbsp. shortening
    2 eggs, beaten
    3 bananas, mashed
    1 Tbsp. soda
    1/2 c. pecans
    4 Tbsp. buttermilk
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs, bananas, pecans, buttermilk and vanilla.
    Sift dry ingredients.
    Gradually add to creamed mix.
    Beat well.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 until done when tested.
