Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour or cake flour
1/3 c. sugar
1 c. dark molasses
3/4 c. hot water
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. salt
sweetened whipped cream or applesauce
Preparation

Heat oven to 325\u00b0.
Grease and flour a baking pan 9 x 9 x 2-inches.
Mix all ingredients except whipped cream or applesauce in a large mixer bowl.
Blend 1/2 minute on low speed, scraping the bowl constantly.
Beat 3 minutes on medium speed scraping occasionally.
Pour into the pan.
Bake 50 minutes.
Serve warm with whipped cream or applesauce.
