Malaysian Beef - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. beef sirloin
    1 tsp. chili powder
    3 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1/2 lemon rind, grated
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. powdered ginger
    2 Tbsp. plum jam
    butter
    1 tsp. garlic powder or 2 cloves garlic, crushed
Preparation
    Cut meat into 1/2-inch strips.
    Mix together ginger, chili powder, garlic and lemon rind.
    Dip meat into mixture and brown in butter.
    Combine sugar, jam, lemon juice, salt and 1 1/2 cups water.
    Add meat and simmer 30 minutes.
    Serve with rice.
