Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 gal. water
    1 hen
    2 lb. beef
    1/4 lb. bacon
    5 c. onions
    5 c. carrots
    5 c. cabbage
    2 1/2 c. green beans
    10 c. tomatoes
    8 c. potatoes
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    3 Tbsp. salt
    2 tsp. pepper
    5 c. corn
Preparation
    Cook hen , beef and bacon in 1/2 gallon of water for 2 hours. Then add onions, carrots, cabbage, green beans and tomatoes.
    Cook 1 1/2 hours.
    Then add potatoes, sugar, salt and pepper.
    Cook 1 1/2 hours.
    Then add corn and cook at least 15 minutes.
    Makes 2 1/2 to 3 gallons.
    It sticks very easily, so cook over low heat and stir often.
