Almond Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sifted plain flour
1 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1 stick margarine
1 egg yolk
2 tsp. vanilla
pinch of salt
1 c. sliced almonds
Preparation

Cream butter,
margarine and sugar thoroughly.\tAdd egg yolk; add flour,\tsalt
and
vanilla.
Grease cookie sheet and spread dough with\tfingers
dusted with flour.
Beat egg white and brush over cookies.
Sprinkle almonds over dough and press down with hand.
Bake
at
275\u00b0
for\t45
minutes
or
lightly browned.
Cut within
a
few minutes into desired portions.
A 10 x 15-inch cookie sheet works well.
