Ingredients

2 c. white sugar
1 1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. molasses
2 eggs
2 tsp. each: cinnamon, cloves and ginger
4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking soda
Preparation

Mix shortening and sugar.
Add eggs, then molasses; blend well.
Sift dry ingredients together; add to first mixture. Combine thoroughly.
Roll balls size of walnuts in white sugar. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 12 minutes.
Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
