Featherbed Rolls - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
2 c. milk, scalded and cooled
2 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. lukewarm water
1/3 to 1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
6 to 7 c. flour
Preparation

Add shortening to milk while milk is still hot.
When milk has cooled, dissolve yeast in water and add to milk.
Add sugar, salt, eggs and flour.
Mix well and let stand in bowl for 20 minutes. Knead for a minute or two.
Shape into rolls and let rise until doubled in size.
Bake in hot oven, 425\u00b0, until golden brown, about 20 minutes.
Brush with butter after removing from oven. Makes 3 dozen.
