Sweetheart Salad - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. crushed pineapple, undrained
1 pkg. Knox plain gelatine
1/2 c. sugar plus 1 Tbsp.
2 (8 oz.) cream cheese
2 Tbsp. cherry juice
1/4 c. cold water
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 large container Cool Whip or 2 small containers
1 small jar cherries, chopped
Preparation

Dissolve gelatine in cold water, set aside.
Add pineapple and sugar together in pot on stove.
Bring to a boil.
Add the gelatine mixture to the pineapple mixture.
Stir until gelatine is dissolved.
Add lemon and cherry juice, let cool.
Mash cream cheese and chopped cherries.
Add to pineapple mixture.
Chill to slightly thickened.
Add Cool Whip.
Top with chopped walnuts and cherries, if desired.
Mix with mixer in large bowl.
