Fruit Jumblet Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 c. flour
    1 c. lard
    2 c. walnuts
    3 eggs, separated
    1 lb. dates
    1 tsp. soda in 1/2 c. boiling water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation
    Grind dates with a little flour to keep from sticking; walnuts help, too.
    Fold in egg whites, stiffly beaten, last.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
