White Bread(Quick Method) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. milk
5 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. salt
2 cakes yeast
2 c. warm water
12 to 13 c. sifted flour
5 Tbsp. melted shortening
Preparation

Scald milk.
Add sugar and salt; cool to lukewarm.
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water and add to milk.
Add half of flour and beat until smooth.
Add melted shortening and remaining flour or enough to make easy handled dough.
Knead quickly and lightly until smooth and elastic.
Place dough in greased bowl, cover and set in a warm place.
Let rise until double in bulk, divide into 4 equal portions and shape into loaves.
Place in greased loaf pans. Bake in 425\u00b0 oven for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes longer.
