Corn Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp. double-acting baking powder
1 or 2 tsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. yellow or white stone ground cornmeal
1 egg
2 or 3 Tbsp. melted butter
1 c. milk
Preparation

Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
Add cornmeal.
Beat in a separate bowl the egg.
Beat into it butter and milk.
Combine all ingredients with a few rapid strokes.
Place the batter in the hot pan.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes in 9 x 9-inch pan.
Serve immediately.
