German Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 c. sorghum molasses
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    4 to 5 c. flour
    2 tsp. ginger
    3 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients.
    Let chill overnight.
    Shape in balls size of walnuts.
    Press with fork to make cross.
    Bake in moderate oven 10 to 12 minutes.
    They are best if not cooked too done.
    Take them out so that they will fall when taken out of the oven.
    The dough will keep in refrigerator for days.
