Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar, packed
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 egg
    1/4 c. water
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. all-purpose flour (if using self-rising flour, omit salt and baking soda)
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 c. raisins
    1 c. chopped nuts
    3 c. quick cooking oats
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Mix thoroughly shortening, sugars, egg, water and vanilla.
    Stir in remaining ingredients.
    Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 1-inch apart onto greased baking sheet.
    Bake 12 to 15 minutes or until almost no imprint remains when touched with finger.
    Store in tightly covered container.
    Makes about 5 dozen cookies.
