Quick Corn Light Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. plain meal, sifted
    1 c. plain flour, sifted
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/3 c. sugar
    2 c. buttermilk
    1 egg, beaten
    1/2 c. melted shortening
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients.
    Add buttermilk, egg and melted fat. Bake 45 minutes in loaf pan which has been greased and sprinkled well with meal.
    Pan size for one loaf: 9 x 5 x 2 3/4-inches or 10 1/4 x 3 5/8 x 2 5/8-inches; 2 small loaves: 7 3/8 x 3 5/8 x 2 1/4-inches.
