Apple Coffee Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 large apples, sliced
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
nutmeats

Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs, flour, baking powder and vanilla.
Blend until smooth.
Spread in an 11 x 13-inch pan. Push thin apple slices into batter.
Sprinkle top with mixture of sugar, cinnamon and nuts.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
