Sugar Crinkles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. shortening
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 egg
    1 tsp. cream of tartar
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    sugar
Preparation
    Cream together brown sugar, 1/2 cup sugar, shortening, vanilla and egg; mix well.
    Add cream of tartar, flour, baking soda and salt; mix well.
    Roll into 1-inch balls and roll into sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheets, 2 inches apart.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes, or until done.
    Makes 3 to 4 dozen.
