Marinated Vegetable Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can English peas, drained
    1 can white Shoe Peg corn, drained
    1 can French-style green beans, drained
    1 jar diced pimento, drained
    1/2 c. diced celery
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1/2 c. chopped green onion
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. vegetable oil
    1/2 tsp. salt and pepper
Preparation
    Combine vegetables, tossing lightly.
    Combine last 4 ingredients in a saucepan; bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Pour over vegetables, stirring gently to blend.
    Cover and chill 24 hours.
    Serve on lettuce leaf.
    Serves 6 to 8.
