Biscotti(Italian Cookies) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 lb. butter
    1 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. anise extract
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add eggs and anise extract; blend thoroughly.
    Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture; blend well.
    Divide batter in half; place on greased cookie sheet in 2 freeform loaf shapes.
    Bake until golden (15 to 20 minutes).
    Remove from oven; cut in 1-inch slices to make cookies.
    Place cookies back on cookie sheet, side down.
    Return to oven to brown slightly (5 to 7 minutes).
    Yields approximately 3 dozen.
