Old-Fashioned Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    2 tsp. vanilla
    5 c. flour, sifted
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add eggs, one at a time and beat. Add buttermilk.
    Combine all dry ingredients and sift into creamed mixture.
    Add vanilla.
    Roll out to 1/4 or 3/8-inch and cut with any shape cutter.
    Bake on greased cookie sheets at 400\u00b0 about 8 to 10 minutes.
