Maple Syrup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. hot water
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/2 Tbsp. maple flavoring
Preparation
    Stir sugar and water until sugar is dissolved.
    Add cream of tartar, stirring well.
    Boil for 5 minutes and remove from heat. Stir in flavoring.
    Let stand until cool.
    Pour into jar.
