Tamale Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 small onion, minced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 Tbsp. fat
1 lb. ground beef
1/4 lb. bulk sausage
1 can (1 lb.) tomatoes
1 can (1 lb.) whole kernel corn, drained
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. chili powder
18 pitted ripe olives
1 c. corn meal
1 c. milk
2 eggs, well beaten
1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Saute onions and garlic in hot fat until yellow.
Add meat and brown.
Pour off excess fat.
Add vegetables and seasonings, bring to a boil.
Pour mixture into a deep casserole.
Press olives into meat.
Combine corn meal, milk and eggs.
Spoon over filling.
Sprinkle with cheese.
Bake 1 hour. Serves 6 to 8.
