Toffee Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening (may use 1/2 c. butter)
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg yolk
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    2 c. flour
    1/2 lb. milk chocolate bar
    1/2 to 3/4 c. nuts, chopped well
Preparation
    Cream shortening and brown sugar together.
    Add egg yolk and vanilla.
    Add, by hand, flour (will be very heavy and dry). Grease cookie sheet (jelly roll pan works best), spread dough in by hand and pat down.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes (or less) until slightly brown.
