Oatmeal Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. yeast
1/2 c. lukewarm water
2 c. uncooked oatmeal
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. shortening
2 tsp. salt
2 c. boiling water
4 c. flour
1/2 c. nut meats
Preparation

Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
Pour boiling water over oatmeal, shortening, sugar and salt.
Mix well.
Let cool until lukewarm. Stir in dissolved yeast.
Add nut meats and 3 1/4
cups of flour.
Cover and set in warm place and allow to double in size.
Place remaining flour on board and knead until it is all worked in.
It will seem stiff.
Set in warm place until more than double in bulk.
Divide into loaves.
Makes 2 large or 4 small loaves.
Let raise.
Bake at 350\u00b0
for 45 to 50 minutes.
