Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine all ingredients except flour and walnuts in a mixing bowl. Mix well.
Gradually add flour until well mixed.
Add walnuts. You can substitute any nut you prefer.
Variation: I have occasionally omitted the nuts for chocolate chips - or used both. I would almost say they are better than the toll house recipe.
Bake cookies for about 12 minutes on a cookie sheet.

Cream together\"unpacked\" brown sugar, eggs and butter.
Add baking soda, salt and vinegar and mix well.
Add flour 1 Cup at a time and mix well for the first 3 cups. Add additional flour 1/4 cup at a time if necessary until you get a stiff dough.
Chill dough at least 1/2 hour.
Roll dough into 1 inch balls and roll balls in powdered sugar and place on cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees F for 8 minutes.

Mix oleo, brown sugar and eggs.
Stir in buttermilk.
Sift flour, soda and salt together.
Combine all ingredients.
Chill at least 1 hour before baking at 375\u00b0.

Cream brown sugar, Karo, shortening and eggs and blend well. Add soda, baking powder, salt, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon.
Add milk and flour until well blended.
Dissolve coffee crystals in water; set aside.
In bowl beat margarine and shortening on medium speed 30 seconds.
Add brown sugar, cinnamon and baking powder.
Beat until combined.
Beat in coffee mixture, egg and vanilla.
Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer.
Stir in any remaining flour.

Add oil, oleo, vanilla and flour.
Drop by teaspoon; press down with bottom of small glass covered in sugar.
Bake at 350\u00b0.
Melt butter and brown sugar.
Add to dry ingredients with nuts, vanilla and egg.
Drop on a greased cookie sheet.
Bake until brown.
