Cook onions and potatoes in boiling water until they are very tender.
Save 1 cup of potato water.
Run the cooked vegetables through a sieve.
Blend flour, butter, salt and pepper and add potato water.
Cook well.
Add milk and sieved vegetables.
If necessary, beat three minutes with an eggbeater to get well blended.
Cook 15 minutes and serve hot.
