To make the dough:
Place the warm water,
arefully placing 1 piece of dough into the pan.

dough and divide into 6 pieces.
Lightly flour cutting board.
With rolling pin, flatten dough into circle or oval (do not roll dough too much).
Stretch dough with hands to make larger circles.
Let dough rise for 10 to 15 minutes.

Cook 2 to 3 pieces of fried dough at a time until brown on both sides. (Dough cooks best if only turned once.)
Drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with sugar.
Put flour in large bowl.

Add warm water, 1/2 cup at a time.
Knead dough until all flour and water are used. Knead for about 10 minutes, until round ball forms.
Sprinkle with flour lightly.
Cover bowl with towel and let set 3 to 5 hours or overnight.
Keep in warm place.
Makes large pizza or drop by handfuls into 4 tablespoons of sizzling olive oil for fried dough. Sprinkle with sugar or confectioners sugar.

Fry on each side until golden brown.
(Oil hands before stretching bread for easier handling.)
Drain on paper towels.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar or eat plain.

Place dough sheets on a vegetable oil-sprayed cookie sheet. Cut dough into thin strips about 1/2 inch apart along the width of the pan. Repeat this process with the remaining dough portion.
Bake for 30 minutes.
