In a large bowl combine all ingredients for bars. Mix well.
Pour into greased and floured 13x9\" pan.
Bake for 30 minutes or until golden.

Pour evenly oven date bread.
Cut into bars.

Old-Fashioned Date Nut Cake(Recipe Over 50 Years Old)

Cream together the sugar, butter and eggs and set aside. Place flour in separate bowl.
Add dates and nuts, then put soda in cup of boiling water and pour over date-nut-flour mixture, then add alternately to first mixture.

Bake in a 7 x 11-inch pan at 375\u00b0 for 20 minutes.

Beat eggs until foamy.
Add sugar.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

Chill.

Diabetic Oatmeal Date Nut Cookies

Blend oleo and sugars well.
Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Combine dry ingredients.
Add to oleo-sugar mixture.
Add oatmeal, nuts and dates.
Drop on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 12 to 17 minutes.

Combine dates, 1/4 cup sugar and water in small saucepan. Cook 5 minutes, until mixture boils and thickens.
Remove from heat; add extract.
Cool.
Combine remaining ingredients in separate bowl along with remaining 1/2 cup sugar.

Put dates and 1 cup brown sugar in a saucepan. Add enough water to cover dates. Over medium heat, bring to a boil. Boil about 10 minutes. Set aside.

Be sure to reserve 1 cup for the top.
Cover crumb mix with date mixture; sprinkle with remaining crumbs.

Apricot Date Raisin Bars

Combine oatmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, margarine, honey and coconut.
Mix well.
Set aside.
Cook apricots, dates, raisins and water in a small saucepan until the water is absorbed. Spread 1/2 of the oatmeal mixture in a 9 x 9 inch dish.
Spread fruit mixture on top of oatmeal mixture.
Next, combine the remaining oatmeal mixture with the sunflower seeds.
Sprinkle evenly over the fruit mixture and press lightly.

Grease bottom of a 9-inch square baking pan.
Melt butter in saucepan over low heat.
Remove from heat. Stir in remaining ingredients in order listed.
Mix well.
Spread in prepared pan.

Sift confectioners sugar over bars, if desired.

Mix on low speed until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
Mix melted butter, eggs, nuts and dates together and then add to dry ingredients. Make certain all ingredients are completely mixed.
Pour into well-greased 9 x 11-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until dark brown. Cut into 1 x 2-inch bars when cool.
Coat bars with powdered sugar.
