In a large bowl combine all ingredients for bars. Mix well.
Pour into greased and floured 13x9\" pan.
Bake for 30 minutes or until golden.
Cool.
In a small bowl, mix glaze ingredients until smooth.
Pour evenly oven date bread.
Cut into bars.
In a mixing bowl, combine cake mix and brown sugar.
Add butter and eggs; beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.
Combine dates and walnuts; stir into batter (the batter will be stiff). Spread into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 45 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
Run a knife around sides of pan to loosen; cool completely before cutting.
Makes 3 dozen bars.
