Calico Bean Bake

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large skillet, cook bacon 1 minute, tear into small pieces. Add ground beef and onion, cook until browned. Stir with fork to break up meat, drain. Add ketchup, sugar, brown sugar, mustard, salt & vinegar, stirring to blend. Spoon mixture into a casserole dish and add remaining ingredients, stirring lightly to blend. Bake 1 hour.
Recipe can be doubled or tripled.

Mexican Bean Bake

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all of the ingredients for the crust together. The batter will be lumpy. Spread into a 9x9 casserole dish. In a large frying pan brown the ground beef and drain the fat out. Add the chopped onion and cook until clear. Add in the remaining bean mix ingredients and cook until hot. Spoon the bean mixture onto the batter. Cook in the oven for 30 minutes. In the last 15 minutes of cooking you can add shredded cheese to the top for added flavour. For a large 9x13 casserole just double the recipe.

Cook ground chuck, ham, onion and pepper; drain well.
Add catsup, brown sugar, white sugar, vinegar, salt, dry mustard
and the 3 cans of beans which have been drained of 1/2 their liquid. Mix all together well and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or at least 6 hours in an electric bean pot or slow cooker.

mix this into bean mixture.
Pour into casserole dish.
lay bacon on top.

Drain only the butter beans; mix all together in large dish.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
You can use a crock-pot and cook for a couple of hours on medium.
Keeps very well and tastes better the second day.
