Maureen'S Fabulous Brownies With Ganache - cooking recipe
Ingredients

BROWNIES
2 sticks butter (8 oz.)
4 oz. un-sweetened chocolate
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Cups sugar
3 eggs
1 Cup flour (5 oz.)
1 Cup mini-chocolate chips (6oz)
2 Cups walnut pieces (8 oz.)
GANACHE
8 oz. good quality semi-sweet chocolate, like Lindt or Valrhona
6 Tblsp. butter
3/4 Cup heavy cream
4 Tblsp. kirsch or other liqueur, (optional-add 4 TBS more cream if omitting kirsch)
Preparation

For brownies:
Melt one stick of butter with un-sweetened chocolate. Cool.
Add vanilla. Set aside.
Cream remaining stick of butter with sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Add chocolate mixture.
Add flour, just until incorporated.
Stir in mini-chocolate chips and walnuts.
Bake in foil-lined, un-greased 9X13 pan @ 350 degrees
for 40-45 minutes.
Meanwhile, make ganache:
Melt chocolate with butter.
Stir in heavy cream.
(Add liqueur)
When cool, cover with glaze.
Let ganache cool and either cut into 32 squares and enjoy at room temperature or place in fridge for a couple of hours and enjoy chilled. They are FABULOUS either way!!!!
