Créme Brulèe - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pint whipping cream
    4 egg yolks
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 Tablespoon vanilla
    1/8 teaspoon salt granulated sugar
Preparation
    Scald cream. Beat egg yolks and sugar until thick (about 3 minutes.) Gradually stir in cream, vanilla, salt. Pour into individual shallow baking cups. Set cups in baking pan, add hot water to come halfway up sides of cups. Bake 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes. Remove from water; refrigerate several hours. Sprinkle each custard with 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar. Broil about 3 minutes until tops begin to brown. Refrigerate before serving.

    Note: Larry 'broils' the sugar with a blowtorch.
