Exotic Fruit Salad - cooking recipe

2/3 cup granulated sugar
5 strips orange zest
4 None passion fruits, pulp removed
1 None large mango, peeled, pitted, coarsely chopped
1/2 None small pineapple, peeled, coarsely chopped
2 None kiwis, peeled, quartered
1/4 lb strawberries, halved
Preparation

Combine sugar, orange zest, passion fruit pulp and 1/4 cup water in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring, for 2-3 mins, or until sugar dissolves. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 5-6 mins, or until syrup thickens slightly. Let cool.
Meanwhile, combine mango, pineapple, kiwis and strawberries. Pour cooled passion fruit syrup over fruit, cover with plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour. Serve.
