Barbecue Shrimp - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tsp cornstarch
    1 None large egg white
    1 lb raw large shrimp, peeled, deveined
    1 cup oil
    1 None large onion, peeled, chopped
    1 tsp curry powder
    1/4 tsp sugar
    2 tsp satay sauce
    3 tbsp heavy cream
    1/2 None red pepper, seeded, sliced
    None None lettuce, to serve
    None None brandy, to serve (optional)
Preparation
    Whisk together cornstarch, 1 tsp salt and egg white. Add shrimp and mix to combine. Let stand for 1 hour.
    Heat oil in a frying pan or wok. Fry shrimp for 2 mins, or until just cooked. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
    Drain oil from pan, leaving approximately 1/4 cup oil. Saute onion for 2 mins. Add curry powder and sugar. Cook for 1 min. Add shrimp to pan and cook for 1 min. Add satay sauce and cream. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 1 min, stirring constantly. Add red pepper. Remove from heat.
    Line a serving dish with lettuce. Spoon shrimp over top of lettuce. If desired, place a small metal bowl in the center of shrimp. Fill with warmed brandy and set on fire. Hold shrimp over flame with chopsticks to heat and flavor shrimp.
