Almond Crescents - cooking recipe

3 3/4 cups ground almonds
1 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp lemon zest
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 None large egg whites, lightly beaten
1 cup sliced almonds
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0F. Grease and line 2 baking trays with parchment paper.
Combine ground almonds, sugar, lemon zest and vanilla in a large bowl. Add egg whites and stir until combined. Place sliced almonds in a small bowl. Roll level tbsp of mixture in sliced almonds. Roll into 3 1/2 inch logs and shape into crescents. Press any remaining almonds on top.
Place on prepared trays and bake for 15 mins, or until lightly browned. Let cool on trays. Serve.
