Chicken Braised In Milk With Lemon - cooking recipe

3 1/3 lb chicken
1/4 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
2 tbsp canola oil
8 cloves garlic, lightly crushed
1 None lemon, zested then sliced
1 2/3 cups milk
Preparation

Preheat oven to 400\u00b0F. Rub chicken with nutmeg and season. Heat oil in a roasting pan, add chicken and saute over medium-high heat, turning frequently until browned all over. Place garlic and lemon slices around chicken and pour milk over top. Cover with foil and bake for about 1 hour. Uncover, sprinkle with lemon zest and cook for another 30-45 mins until chicken is golden brown and juices run clear when thickest part of thigh is pierced.
