Shortbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cup butter, at room temperature
    1/2 cup granulated sugar, plus extra to dust
    3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0F.
    Cream butter until it resembles whipped cream. Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add flour and mix until very smooth. Shape into two 9 1/2 inch discs. Transfer to baking trays. Stretch dough out until very smooth. Level surface with a rolling pin. Crimp edges.
    Score a circle in the center of dough with 2 3/4 inch cookie cutter then score into 12 wedges, from circle to outer edges. Prick with a fork and dust lightly with sugar. Bake for 40 mins, until very light brown and crisp. Let cool completely on trays. Break into wedges to serve.
