Cherry Soup With Sweet Dumplings - cooking recipe

2 lbs cherries, pitted
1 cup sugar
1 None egg
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
Preparation

Combine the cherries, 3/4 cup sugar and 6 cups water in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 mins.
Whisk the egg and the remaining 1/4 cup sugar in a large bowl until creamy. Mix the flour and baking powder, then fold them into the egg mixture. Add the dumpling mixture to the soup, a spoonful at a time, and simmer for 15 mins. Divide among four bowls and serve.
