Dumplings With Plums - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb potatoes
    1 egg
    1.5 cup flour
20 plums (fresh or from plum compote)
0.5 oz cinnamon powder (add more for stronger cinnamon flavor)
    1 oz vanilla sugar
    7 oz breadcrumbs
    10 tbsp sugar
    1 tsp baking powder
    7 tbsp oil
Preparation
Boil the potatoes (unpeeled), and peel them while hot. Mash the potatoes and add 1 egg, pinch or two of salt and mix together. Start adding flour (about 3/4 cup) until the dough is not too sticky.
Make a roll from the mix, about 2 inches thick in diameter. Cut the roll in equal parts, about half an inch thick. Take one by one piece, and spread them on your palm. Use additional flour to help the process so the dough doesn't stick on your hand. Put plum (or half of plum depending on the size) in the middle and form a ball around it.
Separately, prepare crumb mixture by warming the oil in the pan, then adding bread crumbs, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla sugar.
Put water to boil in a deeper pot. Put dumplings with plums into the water, but make sure that there is enough water for the dumplings to be well covered. Once dumplings come up to the surface (usually after couple of minutes), they are ready.
Take the dumplings out from the pot, put them in the pan with crumb mixture and coat them. Serve warm or cold.
