Beef And Mushroom Pot Pie - cooking recipe

1 tbsp olive oil
2 None medium onions, finely chopped
1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb button mushrooms, finely sliced
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 oz powdered gravy
1/2 lb pie dough
1 None egg, beaten lightly
1 sheet puff pastry
Preparation

Heat oil in a large frying pan. Sweat onions, stirring, until soft. Add ground beef and cook until lightly browned. Add mushrooms and saute slightly. Add tomato paste, Worcestershire, gravy and 1 cup water. Bring to a boil then simmer, uncovered, for 10 mins, or until mixture is thick. Season. Set aside to cool.
Preheat oven to 425\u00b0F. Grease an 8 inch pie dish. Roll pie dough out into a 12 inch disc and use to line pie dish. Trim edges. Fill with ground beef mixture then brush edges with beaten egg. Top with puff pastry, pressing edges to seal. Trim excess and brush top with egg. Bake for 40 mins, or until browned and crisp.
