Hoisin Braised Short Ribs - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 cup hoisin sauce
1 cup beef stock
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup grated fresh ginger
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 None star anise
1/2 cup orange juice
1 (2 inch) strip orange zest
1 None fresh long red chili, chopped coarsely
4 1/2 lb beef short ribs
Preparation

Preheat oven to 300\u00b0F.
Combine hoisin sauce, stock, sugar, ginger, garlic, star anise, orange juice, orange zest and chili in a large shallow baking dish. Add ribs and turn to coat. Cover pan with foil and bake for 2 hours.
Flip ribs over, cover and return to oven for another 30 mins, or until tender. Remove ribs from dish and cover to keep warm.
Pour braising liquid into a medium saucepan then skim fat from surface. Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 10 mins, or thickened slightly. Season to taste.
Serve ribs drizzled with sauce.
