Buttered Rum Brazil Nuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 2/3 cups sugar
    2 tsp light corn syrup
    1 tbsp butter
    1 tbsp rum
    1 cup brazil nuts
Preparation
    Combine sugar, 1/2 cup water and corn syrup in large heavy-bottomed saucepan. Stir on medium heat, without boiling, until sugar is dissolved. Bring to a boil; boil about 20 mins or until a teaspoon of hot syrup will set and crack when dropped into a cup of cold water. (300\u00b0F on a candy thermometer)
    Meanwhile, line baking pans with parchment paper.
    Remove pan from heat; allow bubbles to subside. Add butter and rum and stir gently. Add nuts; tilt pan until nuts are well coated in syrup mixture.
    Working quickly, using greased tongs or two forks, lift nuts, one at a time, and place on prepared pans. Let stand at room temperature until set.
