French Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 tbsp olive oil
    1 1/4 lb onions, sliced
    1 pinch granulated sugar
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    1 tsp fresh rosemary, chopped
    2/3 cup dry white wine
    3 1/2 cups vegetable stock
    8 slices baguette
    1/2 lb Gruyere cheese, grated
Preparation
    Heat oil in a saucepan and saute onions for 10-15 mins, stirring frequently, until lightly browned. Add sugar and garlic and saute for 2 mins. Add 1/2 tsp rosemary, wine and stock and bring to a gentle simmer, cover and cook gently for 15 mins.
    Meanwhile, lightly toast baguette slices on both sides. Mix remaining rosemary with cheese and sprinkle over toast. Broil until cheese melts.
    Season soup and ladle into serving bowls. Arrange bread on top to serve.
